Today, pray for my friend, she is in pain and even morphine did not help this time.
Today, pray for the people suffering famine in southeast Africa, that they will find food and water or have it given to them, that their countries will grow towards stability and the oppression will stop. Please pray for the people in civil war in the Middle East and Libya and Egypt, that they will find peace, good leadership and self-determination, the things we take for granted in countries that grant people freedom. Please pray for the people in Afghanistan, suffering under or misled by the Taliban. Pray for universal and standard education, no more land mines or other explosives, pray for peace.
Pray for the children that go to BC schools that are not ready for earthquakes. Pray that the children will live through any earthquake, whether the school structures are sound or not. Pray for the people suffering mental illness and depression, that they will get help when they need it. Pray for children in foster homes, that they will find stability, safety and love in their homes. Pray for people suffering longterm unemployment, that they will find meaningful employment that will allow them to live and pay back their debts.
Pray for your own families, with specific concerns for designated. For instance, I pray for my brother and sister-in-law, that they find work not too stressful and have safe commutes to and from work. I pray for my grandparents, that their blood sugar is stable (both have diabetes) and that they continue to find happiness in each other and in friends and family members. I pray for my parents, that their health continues to be good and that they will be safe when they travel. I pray for my aunts and uncles [A. Judy, A. April, A. Bev, A. Marcie, U. Fred, U. Gary, U. Norm, U. Al], that they will have continued good health so they can continue to work until the time that they have planned to retire. I pray for my godparents (who also are aunt and uncle to me) to also have safety when they travel. I pray for my cousins and their spouses, Fred and Trina, Liana and Glenn, that they have health and continue working and continue to find happiness in each other and in their children. I pray for my cousins' children [Micah, Aiden and Jonah (brothers), Miriam and Justin (sister and brother)], that when they run and jump and play, that they will not get hurt falling down or from airborne objects.
Give thanks for your own good health if you have it, give thanks if you can pay your debts and still have money in the bank, give thanks for your parents if they are alive and give thanks for missed family members that are deceased. I give thanks for my mother's parents and my great-grandmother who was my dad's grandmother. I give thanks for my great-uncle Rex, who was my living grandfather's brother and fathered six girls and in grief buried three --- he is now seeing his daughters that went before him!
Yours in Christ,
